Irma Relief for Our Sister Islands, St. Croix, USVI

Our Story

In September of 1989, St. Croix was devastated by hurricane Hugo. As a result of having suffered through Hugo’s aftermath and rebuilding of the island, Sarah Ridgway and her brother Matt Ridgway (both born and raised on St. Croix) started Irma Relief for Our Sister Islands the very night Irma hit St. Thomas and St. John. The idea was to respond swiftly to the needs of the people of the Virgin Islands post hurricane Irma by supplying food and water until the government could mobilize their response teams.

Together with the help of their friends, volunteers and the generosity of the St. Croix community they were able to do just that!

Please Donate Today!

In order to make hurricane relief efforts as impactful as possible, please make a donation of any amount to help us purchase water, food, tarps, medical supplies, and other essential supplies for the people that survived the catastrophic devastation of hurricanes Irma and Maria. Every dollar counts, and 100% of the funds donated will go directly to relief efforts for our islands.

VI-R3 is a nonprofit organization working with the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (our fiscal sponsor) to ensure all donations are tax-deductible.
